CIVIL SOCITY PARTICIPATION IN THE POLITICAL PROCESS

In order the political transition process to be inclusive and credible, all parties should participate in the negotiations for the purpose of outlining the future of the country. Civil society organizations are one of those parties as for its significant role they play in creating stability. Upon that, Syrian Civil Platform worked on holding many dialogues and consultations on the negotiations as a whole and on Civil Society Support Room regarding establishment, structure and mechanism. Thus, Syrian Civil Platform believes that Civil Society Support Room needs lots of continuous efforts as well everyone getting involved as it becomes more representative of Syrian Civil Society. For the purpose of pushing the Civil Society Support Room forward to increase the role of civil society, we, as the platform, in both of the National Committee meetings, have come up with a paper of recommendations. In the meeting that was held in Adana in between the 1st and the 8th of August in order to help in developing the rooms’ performance, the platform came up with the attached list of recommendations.
