Elections for the Hasakah Civil Society Platform in Qamishli were held on Saturday 08 April 2017 in order to elect two delegates to the National Committee for the 2017 session as well as to elect the members of the local executive office for the Platform. Thirty-three people (16 men and 17 women) attended from 32 organizations, while seven members were absent.

The election and voting process was conducted after reviewing the guidance paper for the elections of the Syrian Civil Society Platform. Those elected to be delegates to the National Committee were Riad Ismail, a representative of Ashti Center for Peacebuilding, and Randa Hammi, a representative of Steer organization for Development.

Five members of the local executive office for the Hasakah Civil Society Platform were elected: Amer Murad (representative of Basque Children’s Organization), Emad Majoul (representative of Bahar Cultural Association), Rola Hassan (representative of Basmet Amal Organization), Fawaz Oussi (representative of the Union of Kurdish Writers – Syria), and Serminaz (representative of the Kurdistan Women’s Union – Syria).
